What is IR (Infrared) ?

Infrared (IR) is a type of electromagnetic radiation. Its wavelengths are longer than those of visible light, placing it just beyond the visible spectrum at the red end. Infrared radiation is commonly used in various applications, including remote controls, thermal imaging cameras, and communications systems. It’s also significant in scientific and medical applications for imaging and heating. Infrared light can be divided into several categories based on its wavelength: near-infrared, mid-infrared, and far-infrared, each with distinct uses and properties.

In LED lighting systems, infrared (IR) technology is often used in remote controls to manage various functions of the lighting setup. IR remote controls send signals using infrared light waves to communicate with the LED device, directing it to turn on or off, change colors, adjust brightness, or switch between different lighting modes.

Here’s how it works:
